Closeboard is the strongest of all closed wooden fences, It is built to last decades. It is more expensive than panel fencing or interwoven fencing. It is usually constructed on site from a kit, although ready made panels are available. When the pales are attached to the frame they can be butted (edge to edge) or feather edged (over lapped). Capping rail is fixed onto the top of the fence to protect the pales from the rain and to give a professional finish.
Post and rail fencing is often seen surrounding horse paddocks or on agricultural land. It is an ideal fencing for keeping something in or keeping something out. It is usually erected using a combination of half round post and rails or full post and rails. Wire fencing is commonly used in conjunction with it, usually running along the outside.
